Of course I'm up for it.

I'm pretty much there for any idea anyone formulates....

I only have about 3 seconds online but I usually picture ODA in RolePlay as something along the lines of the College of Winterhold in Skyrim. There are no teachers on salary or anything, it is just a collection of knowledge where duelists come together as a society to learn. The senior, more powerful duelists help incoming apprentices and such to learn. The Academy is run by the Headmaster C.C. and his league of advisors that carry specific functions and jobs. I don't picture it like YGO GX.

However, I wouldn't recommend following the "Rebellion" idea, it was just something to throw out there and show people the type of ideas I was looking for. That doesn't seem fair to Sylveraine to me. (I know this part should go in the other topic but no time) A much better idea to me would be that an artifact was found which made Monster cards actually manifest physically in duels and follow their master's bidding. Perhaps some students wanted to use this to take over the academy, all it's knowledge, and all it's power? It'd achieve the same effect in my opinion, the "Loyalists" vs. the "Rebels." There's just a different, more interesting, and more fair spin on it.

I don't care as well. Both follow the same team, which is 2 teams following their beliefs and trying to outkill the other team. Kicks in the groin better be allowed.

I like both ideas but if I had to choose I'd prefer Evil's but I like it either way.

I'm gonna go ahead and be unpopular here, and say I'm not a big fan of the new idea with people fighting over whether or not shadow games can happen. It just feels very much not character-driven and a huge stretch. The revolt, I wasn't all for it because I thought it'd make C.C. uncomfortable, but now that I know that's not the case, I like it better, because it's a whole lot more personal for the characters. Like, it's not just about sides with that, each character might have really unique and personal motivations for why they're loyal and why they're rebelling and there's lots of open space for subplots, especially in the area of people on the same side fighting each other. With this whole "one side wants to bring back shadow games, one wants to stop it" theme, I feel we lose that. I mean, don't get me wrong, there's still the opportunity to make your character original and interesting, but it's hard to tie into the RP itself, because without extreme character-crafting skills, it's pretty hard to make a convincing and sane character who wants to encourage bringing back competitive murder as a means for people to solve problems, and it's hard to tie in a motivation for opposing it other than, y'know, being opposed to the idea of people using said competitive murder for settling disputes, possibly with hackneyed backstory about losing a loved one to the shadows.

You feel where I'm coming from? It'd just be hard for the characters to form a meaningful connection to the plot and be unique from one another and all that jazz.

Not that there's anything wrong with other plots if dueling is already violent as it is. *coughs at prior idea in other thread about characters being of mythological descent*

I can develop my character more too! Don't worry! But yes. I can usually get RPGs developed well enough that character creation and plot lines aren't a problem. It usually just takes the smallest bit of effort from the character's part to try too. But if we all try enough, it could definitely work.

This would be the biggest event we've had since... the shut down that made us frown.

I did get involved in the Hunger Games, in fact, though I don't remember it well. If I recall, though, everyone who was there at least seemed to have a reason to want to be.

But, okay. I suppose if the premise is developed more than just "wants shadow games vs. doesn't want shadow games, go!" then it should turn out fine. I'm actually quite interested to see what ends up popping up.
