| Hey there everyone, PTA here, and I'll be hosting your lesson for this week.
This week's lesson we'll be going over the difference, or the confusion, between, Sending Cards to the Graveyard and Discarding.
Believe it or not, there are actually a lot of differences between these two things. Here is the basics of it, and we'll just see where we go from there.
Sending Cards to the Graveyard:
- A Quick-Play, Ritual, or Normal spell card will be sent to the graveyard after resolving. - A Normal or Counter Trap card will be send to the graveyard after resolving. - Monsters used in a Synchro Summon will also be sent to the Graveyard - Any effect that states, 'Sent/Send to the Graveyard' will also be sent to the graveyard. ....weird. - And any monsters being tributed, destroyed, discarded, or detached will all still be send to the graveyard.
However, the last bullet above has a lot of acceptations. For example:
If you were to discard 'The Fabled Cerburrel' using 'Card Destruction', it gets its' effect. However with the card, 'Hand Destruction', it does not.
Also just as another note; if a card would currently be banished and then Sent to the Graveyard, that would not be considered, 'Sent to the Graveyard'.
Discarding:
Discarding is referring to the act of moving a card from the hand and sending it to the Graveyard as a result of a Cost, by an Effect, or due to Hand Size Limit during the end phase.
Though, a card that is usually discarded goes to the graveyard, cards like, 'Macro Cosmos' will send cards to the banished zone instead. BUT, this is not considered to be discarded.
Just because a card is moved from the hand to the graveyard, doesn't mean that it has been discarded. Some may say, 'Discard' or some may say, 'Sent/Send'
The Hand Size Limit as some of you may know, is 7 in the game of Yu-Gi-Oh. Once you have the 7th card in your hand, you'll be forced to discard one of them during the End Phase.

Honestly and completely? This entire thing just comes down to the way cards are worded. You REALLY have to actually read a card and know the difference. As odd as it may seem at times... It can be counted as a foul and will get several people. I see these kind of mistakes VERY frequently with like Dark World decks.
Well Alright. I hope I helped you all with your advancement of the game. As per last week's agenda, I suppose I'll leave the challenge up to Nottu. The topic will be unlocked when he decides. **Peace**
-PTA.

| Why is it up to me to come up with the homework? I only did C.C.'s as he told me he had nothing for it. |

| O.o How was I supposed to know that? Fine... I'll think of something.
Okay.... For this assignment, you all need to make a deck themed after discarding, and then win a duel with it. >_> But No Dark Worlds. This is a little easier, but also a little harder. Soo... Eh, We'll leave the maximum amount of points undecided.

| Still doesn't change the fact that hand size limit is 6, not 7. >-> Nevertheless. Need me to send over my Decklist? |

| Not only are you now low-class Duelist for using it, also you are making the build #fail. But, eh, still. Gratz on the win. I guess ... |

| Guys I know that some decks may take less skill to handle than others, but we have to put our differences aside so we can figure out ways to make the game balanced with side card strategies. |
