| Ghostricks is a deck that mostly plays Hide and Seek with the opponent, using position as defense and "poking" (direct attacks) to win. The best advice I'd say is to run lots and lots of Mystical Space Typhoon bait, cards the opponent must/should MST, such as Shard of Greed, Supply Unit, Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, etc...The bait should protect your field-spells and swords of concealing light. Is this advice kinda what you wanted or are you looking more into the strategies/combos of the deck? |

| don't run mst bait, artifacts are a thing and you shouldn't have enough space to waste anyway. 2-3 needle ceiling is a must, shit kills shit good. Run a lot of trap negation (tap n tools) because torrential, mirror (pretty rare nowadays but still), ignition, in general it's a pretty trap heavy format (as far as i know, doubt much will change considering the banlist.)MOST IMPORTANTELY, save ur trap negation for theirs If you land 1 atk with stein, search trap, and repeat. But if they negate that trap stein can't continue next turn and ur fuk'd. Lance cuz if they stop your first ghostrick you're down a turn. With that and the basic ghostrick cards ur already tight on space and idfk if mst will even be useful. ghostricks are such a problem deck man P_P Your only play is hit and run and it's so slowww. Good luck though! |

| Wave motion cannon is a bad idea, most burn cards that aren't werewolf. Only because the field spell will absolutely kill any chance of you doing major damage . Needle Ceiling is....ok but I suggest siding it more than running it. For me it's a dead draw 90% of the time. Negation is normally not a problem for me due to vanish . Just watch your field, if you lose your field spell you basically lost half your protection. Jammy has posted some strategies . I prefer Neko-lock, shuts down decks that work entirely off of monsters while you murder em . Plus it takes a long time to kill |

| actually wave motion cannon isn't bad. It gives something your opponent needs to get rid of asap. More or less it would be used as a distraction to drive the opponent away from more important cards for ghostricks like their field or spirit barrier etc.
just because you do not like something doesn't necessarily make it a "bad" idea sir. |

| MST Bait^ Agreed NutHouse. You sir deserve a medal.
Regardless of artifacts or any other threat to back-row, Ghostricks have a ton of cards that can all be utilized as a continuous threat, face-up or not (scrap-iron reference). Choose wisely on which to pop...

| Uh....mst bait.... Not a good idea. It clogs the deck...What's the point of running a card you know is absolutely useless? (Didn't potato say don't mst bait ?) Wave motion is one of the absolute most out of place cards in ghostricks.... You can't even build a ghostrick burn deck only 1 of the field spells can protect you from that much damage (It's really the most effective field spell out fo the only 3....) ! You know what is good bait for mst? Ghostrick Night, Vanish, Needle Ceiling... heck anything you don't even need ...(I only use about half the traps in my deck every duel...). Mst makes good mst bait too (I don't know why most ghostricks I see don't run mst....) Plus you shouldn't use Scrap-Iron in Ghostricks.... it's unneeded. You have plenty of things to stop attacks . |

| ^ I do agree with Gallantmon about staples like Needle Ceiling, Ghostrick Night, etc. Those are definitely necessities.
Whether it's MST bait or not, it's the continuous threats that are on the field that make Ghostricks the field-advantage control deck that they are. Such a deck shouldn't be limited just because there's another deck out there that has a potential 9+ MSTs, especially since that's why there's a side deck (In regards to Potato's Artifacts).
In the long run, everyone has their own philosophies on how a deck is ran, all I'm saying is that blade4 should take these ideas to consideration when building the deck. Whether he rejects or applies these ideas is up to him, just so long as they were considered. Player preference bro, player preference. |
