The elven spellcaster shot to his feet, ignoring his pain entirely, "Lead the way Augusto." Adrenaline was pumping through his system at such a high rate it was unreal. Droite couldn't be dead! She had just been with him a few hours ago. It can't be true.

Nottu slowed his pace until he was barely inching towards her charred body. He slumped down to his knees beside the remains of his newest friend, "Droite..." he whispered as the sorrow built in his eyes and throat.
The salty drops fell from his sapphire eyes as he took the crimson soaked jacket from around his chest and lay it over her body, "I'm sorry Droite..." he sobbed silently, "I should have been there...I should have stopped them." His voice cracked as he cried harder with every passing moment. He had never felt such a pain before. Losing a comrade, it was no where near this terrible in his world when he had last lost an ally.
The wizard's ears drooped but perked up again just as quickly. His eyes narrowed, squeezing tears from them. The sorrow in his heart now turned to hatred and rage, "I will avenge her, if its the last thing I do. I swear to Odin, I will avenge her!" He struck the ground with his fist and held his holy charm necklace tight in his fist.

Nottu turned to the young boy beside him, "Don't you dare go there Augusto. NO ONE should have to die here."
He stood up, the tears ending, "This was supposed to be a friendly tournament, like Duelist Kingdom was, not some war full of bloodshed."

He kneeled down and wrapped the bloodied coat around his deceased friend. As he lifted her, a bundle feel from her arm and hit the ground. Nottu looked to see what it was: Droite's deck. He carefully cradled her in one arm and scooped up her cards.
"I'll keep you in this one way or another Droite," he whispered to her lifeless corpse as he pocketed her deck.
He stood up all the way and made his way towards where he knew a graveyard was supposed to be, "Let's go Augusto."

The jungle was dense, but the mage made his way through all the same. Droite deserved a proper burial at this rate. Whoever it was that burned her body was going to pay with their very life, and soul.

Nottu trudged through the undergrowth for what seemed like hours until he finally came across an ancient stone wall with a rot-iron gate.
"We made it," he told the boy.

The lava from the volcano drips down on top of the trees' tops.
The whole forest is in a blaze. Soon, there will be nothing but ashes.
Pride appears, dragging Droite's body.
"It's funny how quickly something can burn...."
He looks over at Droite

His nose still bleeding.

By this time, the jungle was in ashes. Nothing remained.
The hills wound up and down, but no sign of life was to be found but the woman of butterflies and the boy of shadows.
Pride looks around.
"Impressive isn't it?"
"That was just a portion of Nottu's power....."
He smiles....
"So much more awaits everyone..."
He looks at her.
"You want the magician alive again, correct...?"
"I assure you... The way that Phoenix boy does his work is dangerous.... One wrong move and not only will he be burned with his flames, but everyone else too... It's only a matter of time before something of his goes wrong."
He looks away.
"...I can resurrect him you know.... Not only with his magic, but mine too..."

Pride steps into the ashes softly. His shoes not even muffling a 'click'.
He looks around and scowls.
"All is bare... Just as the philosopher predicted..."
He walked around an old tree truck. Blackened with char, the tree was far from living.
Pride then noticed something close by; something pink.
Upon further inspection a flower remained. Upon closer examination, several of these flowers could be found everywhere.
He smiled.
"Like a phoenix I suppose...."
He pulls out the photograph he found in the laboratory.
"To think... That they could work so closely with this game... Know everything about what is to happen, and yet.... Not reveal it to anyone? And fake it perfectly too..."
He scowls....
Shadows came from the black around him.
"Someone's coming..."
He smirked.
"Joy...."

He turns around and smiles.
Pride face has started to shred. Almost like it's beginning to flake off.
Pride pulls his hand over the spot.
"We've been played boy... And I don't like it... Not even for a single minute...."
He kicks around the the ashes.
Shadows form all around him, acting out scenes from various points of the story.
"Someone who's tricked everyone into getting what they want... Someone who..."
The shadows figurines get stabbed through the skull.
"...Must be punished...."
Pride's face begins to fall apart more. His face to the point where barely his hand can hold it together.
He throws the photo to Phoenix...
"I suppose some appearances rarely shed the whole truth... Some can even be used to a person's advantage..."
He smiles...
"Some of pure innocence."
He looks back up.
He staggers back and struggles. Both hands grabbing the front of his eye.
"I don't have much time left... Some of these rituals and transmutations have left me at an extreme disadvantage...."
He removes his hands from his face. Nothing is inside. His body is hollow. Shadows come out of the container and fill the space. Ad eye and mouth.
