Welcome to Orichalcos Duel Academy!
Orichalcos Duel Academy is a free forum, dedicated to the Card Game "Yu-Gi-Oh!" (Mainly using the system Dueling Network) . The founder, "Jammy", has put in his time to start a community that continues to grow. He has been through rough, and also good times, in which he was able to take care of the Academy, and keep it staying well and alive. But he had to leave because of his life taking off, and now left us with ODA. We now have this Academy open for you. You can take part in a variety of:
- Events
- Tournaments
- Online YCS
- RPGs
- Deck Bulding Contests
- War Events
Who are the Staff at ODA?
Admins
- These staff have the highest rank at ODA. They are here to overlook everything, and make sure that things run well within the academy. They take dealings with "public affairs" and overlook that the staff do their job. They are also responsible when it comes to taking care of anything that a staff isn't able to complete, and make changes to the forum when needed.

Secretaries
- These are the staff that regulate chats, and the topics on the forum. They have the ability to make sure the forum runs well, and are the "right hand" of the Admins. They take care of things when the admins aren't able to meet the demands of the forum.

Testers
- This is the part of the Staff that tests the skill of the new members, as well of those who want to once again see if they have what it takes to come into a higher Dorm. They use the Dorm System, to grade you. Slifer is a low ranking, whereas Obelisk is the higher one. Ra is in between. They are very important, since without them, we won't get any of our members in their proper dorms, which would result in a huge mess.

- These are the staff that regulate banners, event pictures, navbars, anything that makes the site pleasing to the eye. They dedicate the up-most of time to make sure that everything looks nice, and that more people will come to join due to the organization of the forum.

What Should I do first, joining the academy?
When you first join ODA, you should make an introduction here, so people can get a small feel of what you are like joining the academy.. By looking to your right (under your profile), you can see a variety of "Quick Links" you can also look into, to get a feel of what the academy is like.
Testing at ODA
Here at ODA, joining the academy, you are at a beginner rank. After 5 posts you'll be put in Slifer Red. After that, you can get a test for Ra, and if having passed that you can take a testfor getting into Obelisk. After reading the testing rubric found here, a Professor will try to make an available time to test you. Don't Panic! You can take as much time as you need to ensure you are properly prepared. After the Lesson is graded, you can request this Test with one of ODA's Testers.

Rules of ODA
Here at ODA staff enforce regulations so that the site will run smoothly, and to reduce conflict among members.
Cursing at ODA is NOT tolerated, as there may be people who are of younger age. This also includes attempting to use a swear avoid such as "b*tch" or something similar. Other words that are not exactly a swear but are deemed offensive nonetheless are treated in the same regard.
No spamming (a staff can deem spamming in a reasonable manner and non-bias manner). This includes logging in and out of the chat repeatedly, logging into the chat to say one thing and logging out immediately and so forth.
No disrespecting academy members (even if it is a joke, some people can really take offense to it. We want people to be welcomed at ODA, not pushed away).
No excessive use of Caps/ Fonts such as Strike, too bright fonts, too dark fonts, etc.
No begging for staff positions.
Do not make your signatures too long/lengthy ( a staff may deem certain lengths abnormal, based on standards).
Avoid religious jokes or discussions on the chat or threads. We do not discourage religion, but there will almost always be someone who gets offended.
Please do not use BBcodes in the chatbox., such as rainbow text. It can be found bothersome and request you to not use it.
Any of these actions can result in Infractions, warnings, or ban. (More punishments will be added if necessary).
First Infraction: Verbal Warning
Second Infraction: Kick from chat
Third Infraction: User Is banned from chat for 24 hours
Any further infractions call for judgment of the staff to decide on the punishment.
Infractions will be kept track of via your profile page. After 30 days, you will have a clean slate once more (If you had any Infractions)
Note: If you feel you are punished in a wrong or biased way, you may pm ALL the admins (at the same time) your claim, and they may look over it. (Proof is needed, or your claim may be ignored). |
