Match : Wind-Ups vs Six Samurai


Match Results: 10/10 1:2

That Shien's Chancellor and Rivalry pretty much won you the match. GG


Deck Construction: 13/20

Now contrary even if your techs like "Shien's Chancellor" worked, you don't want to have that, as it doesn't cover for most decks, and drawing into it most likely leads you into dead draws. It was the luck of the draw with me using wind-ups in this case. Your deck needs a lot of work.
1st off, you have a lot of out-of-place cards in your deck. 2nd, you want to really focus on what type of build you want in Sams. "Power Ranger Build" is really outdated (uses mizuho + Shinai and pops cards on the board). Its a poor strategy that pops cards on the bored, but loses to lack of balance and support afterwards. The current build involves Controlling the game with " Shi En" and controlling the bored with massive field control, and little to no hand presence. There are 2 types of builds " Double-Sword" which is highly control oriented, or "Dojo build" which involves getting out all your cards out quickly, and more aggressive when it comes to playstyle.
Now without touching too much on that I will let you know what cards you need to take out 1st hand. Since you have dojo in the main, I will lead it more towards Dojo build. (The only difference between both builds card choices wise is between picking dojo, or sword).
- Enishi, Shien's Chancellor
-3 Shien's Advisor
- Great Shogun Shien : Should be kept in side. Only main it when Prophecy hits a larger meta-call in TCG.
-1 Kageki. You only need 2. You have 4 cards that can easily search this card as well in the deck.
-1 Mizuho
-1 Shinai
-2 Squire
-3 Magatama : Move all 3 to side. This card is used more for siding.
-1 Swords of Revealing Light: You don't need stall game. You need field control. This doesn't give you card advantage.
- Temple of the Six: Again you want to maintain field control. Attack base of monsters is a weakness of sams, but this can be easily ran over by backrow hate. vs using fiendish chain, Mirror Force to get rid of the monsters, instead of only weakening your opponents monsters.
-1 Torrential Tribute : You don't want to nuke your monsters. You want to keep them on the bored. You keep them on the bored, you win the game basically.
-2 Mystical Space (Its better to add these in to the side. You already have shi en and many other synchros to get over backrow. This is mainly for siding when you face hardcore backrow decks, Fire Fists, Macro Rabbit, etc).
+ 3 Ascenticism : will pull out your synchros and combos faster.
+ 1 Dojo
+2 Bottomless Trap Hole
+2 Fiendish Chain
+1 Mirror Force
+1 Zanji
+1 Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi : Both enishi and Zanji cover your largets weakness in Samurai. Having small base attack, and not being able to run over big bosses. These cards also help you against walls and push for game.
+ 2 Elder of the Six Samurai : Builds up combos, and doesn't waste your normal summons (that way you can still ss other samurais from hand).
-1 Zenmaines. 2 Isn't needed.
+1 Acid Golem
+1 M-X-Saber Invoker
-1 Colossal Fighter
+1 Gem Knight Pearl (for Evilswarm and beaters sams alone can't get over)
+1 Heroic Champion Excalibur
-Stardust Dragon
- Utopia
- Leviair
+ Blade Armor Ninja
-2 Skill Drain: You work off your monster effects (Mainly Shi en, and the synchros )
+2 Mind Crush : Better means for Mermails and fist.
OR + 1 Macro Cosmos and +1 Mind Crush
+1 Zanji : Another good monster to cover for the weaknesses of Six Samurai. Always tech 1.
+1 Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi : The best monster for covering big monsters and keep pushing for game. You always tech 1.





Duelist Peformance: 18/20
Game 1: Game one was pretty rough for me. That field spell was a problem early on, and my starting hand wasn't as good as well. No mst, and eventually you got out shi en, sealing the duel here. You also never misplayed with using Shi En's effect the whole duel. You were catious and wasn't so hasty to win.
Game 2: This time It was a matter of grinding. The more I prolonged the duel, the more you dead drew, and I was overpowing you, by maintaining my card advantage. Which in the deck construction you need to work on making the duel end a bit faster, and not prolong it way too long, unless u are maintaining field control with Shi En.
Game 3: Didn't draw any of my sides this time. No mst no dust tornado. Shien's Advice locking out my Trag in hand. Rivalry of warlords stopping me from doing anything. You took the game easy. GG


Siding: 9/10

Sided Maxx C and Rivalry of the warlords. Rivalry alone stopped me big time anytime it came up, and I didn't have Mst, Dust, or run over with other of my monsters. It was a problem especially when I had a huge field advantage and I had to get rid of all my monsters on the board. Maxx C was good for magi-shark plays. I still think you should have sided Thunder King to stop XYZ plays, and Factory searches.
Side Deck: 4/5

Side deck was well balanced. The only thing out of place was Skill Drain.
2 Maxx C, 2 Soul Drain, 2 Snowman Eater, 2 Dimensional Fissure, 2 Soul Taker, 2 Rivalry of the Warlords, 1 Thunder King


Ruling Questions: 15/15

I was quite happy with your ruling peformance. You answered all the ruling questions nicely, with the exact support I wanted for said answers. Good job.

Total Points: 69/80


Welcome to Ra Yellow Dorm! Overall I think all you need to work on is Deck Construction, and your peformance would be even better if your deck had more options and support.
