You may know Orichalcos Duel Academy, the old Academy that had some ups and downs and several dedicated people attending here, or you may be entirely new here and look at this old Forum and see many things from our past. This all will be changed soon. Starting June, an entire refit will be done for this Academy. Several things will be changed, some drastically, some less so.
● New theme:
A new theme will be introduced to the Academy. We've discussed the fact that each time ODA was revived, we kept the old theme and ran with it, just to be doing the least amount of work possible. Frankly, that won't get us anywhere, and we've decided to bury the old and worn Orichalcos Theme. Off course, we won't discard the past of this Academy, and the Seal will be implemented in our new theme, Atlantis.
● New interaction:
This forum has always been running on the design of an Academy, in which Role Play was a minor part you had as optional thing to do. The new forum will endorse RP a lot more. In the past we had events, such as the Apoqliphort and the Hunger Games. And many here like the Anime. So the idea is that this Academy will be built from the ruins of the Orichalcos Academy and starts off as a Role Play Academy, in which everyone is their own character, with a main Deck, etc. Off course, new decks and changing decks will be allowed, but a main will be selected.
As such, lessons will become a lot more interactive. Instead of posting a lesson, actual classes can/will be held and exams or evaluation tournaments are held. This will also be implemented in the testing system, which as well as the rest of the forum, will be thrown upside down.
● Character Sheets:
Every person's account will become their character sheet. Upon registration, a few things will be requested for the staff to know. Since in the past we know several times gender mix ups have occurred, or people pretended, we try to value a person's privacy by this new system. All the fields you are to fill will be in regards to your character. Therefore, you won't be forced to reveil personal facts you do not wish to share.
Off course we ask you to stay within the Forum rules, aka no 18+ content for the character you design.
We understand that a lot of this is new, and this is more of a trying out phase at this point, but we are willing to make this work. With your help, we may very well have it work. Personally I have not seen any other Academy do this, and that makes me feel comfortable that we're doing something original. The Academy itself will be shown as a "high tech facility", which will be reinforced by the new set of banners that will be uploaded once these changes are put into effect.
