| Hello, Guest.
This week's Card of the Week is no other, then Kuribandit! Our little fluffball that was an Anime Card only, for so long, now got released recently. Reason it's CotW now, is it's splashability and extreme use in several Decks.
Let's take a look at the card first.
So, we have a base ATK of 1000, and a base DEF of 700. Not the best, but this little rascal ain't made for battle. So let's take a peek at it's effect.

- During the End Phase, if this card was Normal Summoned this turn: You can Tribute this card; excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, you can add 1 excavated Spell/Trap Card to your hand, also send the remaining cards to the Graveyard.
So. When your normal it, at the EP, you excavate top 5 cards and send them all to the grave, yet if you excavate a Spell or Trap card, you can add 1 to your hand instead of sending it to the Grave. This looks like a good Deck that needs things in Grave.
So, Decks this is good for. Well, one sure is Chaos Dragons and Lightsworn. Even though Wulf and Felice won't summon themselves, because they got excavated, it's a great part for their engine to get the LS in grave soon. Also for Chaos Dragons and Ruler Sworn, this works great, since they can get their Eclipse Wyverns to Grave fast like this, as well as any Dragon Rulers, or Breakthrough Skill, if you'd want it in Grave. It costs you your Normal Summon, but that doesn't really matter much, you still get to spam your Special Summons next to it, without any problems.
Another Deck this card can be considered broken in, is Sylvan. The new Plant Deck which seems to be packing quite the punch. Since all Sylvan monsters rely on getting excavated, then being sent to the Graveyard, or doing that themselves, this furball is a master in there. With some luck, you excavate and gain 2 or 3 effects, which all stack. And you even get to add the Spell or Trap card, say, Sylvan Charity to your hand. Really a great card in there.
All in all, despite its disappointing stats, it still is a really useful card and does a lot for the game. I'd like to hear all your opinions about our Pirate Kuriboh. Keep the discussion going, people!

| Its a shame Konami took this long to release it, it is truly a great card that works wonders, I use it in my old-style Envoy/chaos deck which I suppose I can't consider it to be old-style with this in it, lol. |

| Kuribandit + Science Soldier OTK = <3
Really though I do like this card. I personally don't run it in anything I run seriously (Despise Lightsworn and Sylvans aren't anything good imo) but its a great support card for decks that need the graveyard dumping. Good article. |

| Sylvan actually is quite good. Got a build from Vent, and I managed to actually OTK someone with it once. Made Shooting Star Dragon, Orea, and still had a live Soul Charge on hand. |

I'll admit Sylvans are becoming more competitive and making more of a name for themselves but tbh I haven't had any real trouble with them in large amounts. Idk. For tier 3 it really doesn't seem much more threatening than rouge. |
