Underground Sewers

A system of underground tunnels and routes that connect the entire new arena together.

Field Effect: Water Attribute monsters gain 500 ATK during the damage step only.

Loud splashes and shoe clicks can be heard from a distance.

Julian runs through the tunnels looking for possible routes to find. It was just one big maze... He was amazed...

He just smirked.. "Soon enough I suppose..."

He kept running, making his way through the watery labyrinth.

As Julian ran through the tunnels, he noticed more and more about the area.

It seemed as if the stone and all the pattern of the sewers changed with everyone area. For example. Where he'd started from, the stones had been round, however now he looked and all the stones were triangles. He found a manhole cover and found that the area above him was some sort of mansion. He didn't exit the sewers however.

He kept running. He knew that the best areas would be towards the end of this labyrinth and he planned on taking them for himself....

On and on he ran, water splattering everywhere, his laughs echoing throughout the tunnels.

After several hours of running, Julian is exhausted.

"Dang these paths.... These god-forsaken paths..."

He continued for a few more minutes until the stonework changed again. He found a set of stairs leading out of the sewers. He had arrived at some sort of old prison..

"what the hell!!" Yoshino yells as he falls into a pool of water. Looking up Yoshino sees the hole he fell through.It looked way too high for him to even consider leaving the way he came. Crawling out of the water Yoshino sarcastically says "great isn't this just a fantastic day. First the train and now i'm drenched, can this day be any worse."Without thinking he began walking to the left of the hole without a single destination in mind.
Abyss he says expecting an answer. Immediately after the words left his mouth his shark like deck master appeared,"You called" Abyss says with amusement in his voice.
"Where do you think these tunnels will take me if keep in this direction" Yoshino says.
"I don't know it could lead to possibly anywhere on this island your best hope is to keep in one direction" Abyss replys with uncertainty. Yoshino simply nods his head and keeps walking.

Yoshino was past the point of annoyed. He was going mad walking around in these underground canals. It had only been a couple hours but to him it felt like days have gone by and yet he has found nothing. Making a split second decision Yoshino takes off in a sprint trying to some way out.

Julian had changed. Whether it was for the better or worse no one knew, but his expressions and emotions were evolving.. Almost into something.. Fake.

He was running. Running through the underground labyrinth.

"I can hear someone!! Yes I can!!!" He laughed a loud jester laugh and continued running.

He'd been running for hours now. But he could hear someone....

"THEY'RE HERE, I JUST KNOW IT!!"

He activated his duel disk. It was different. Gold, yet bejeweled with black. Futuristic, but almost in a retro way.

He knew he was close.... He knew it.

A few minutes later, he spotted them....

He then shouted down the sewer tunnels. "DUEL!!!!"

Yoshino knew someone else was in these sewers with him. Earlier he had heard a faint laughter echoing throughout the tunnels and now he hears the sound of feet tapping on pavement as if someone was right next to him. Stopping in his tracks Yoshino turned around at the sound of someone yelling and activated his duel disk. As the boy began to approach he heard the reason for him being in these foul sewers pour out the boys mouth, "Duel" the boy said. Yoshino smiled at these words and took a ready stance awaiting the boys arrival.

Julian acknowledge his opponent's acceptation of the duel. He threw in his deck. Their souls were on the line.

Julian grabbed at his face and started screaming. "GET OUT!!!!"

He was thrashing about. While doing so, his arm got caught in the locket. The locked falls off.

Julian calms down. Small trails of blood still dripped from his head.

He was.. In the Sewers again? He looked down. The locket was a powerful thing.. He knew.

He picked it up and put it in his pocked.

He looked around again. He noticed a boy just a few meters off with a duel disk and a confused look on his face.

Surprised, Julain falls back into the water.

"Where am I....?!"

Seeing the man fall into the water, Yoshino rushed to help him.Even though they were just about to fight he could not deny this man help it just wasn't in his character. Besides preying on the injured was something only cowards did and Yoshino was definitely not that.

Answering the mans question Yoshino smiled and said " You're in these stupid sewers." Offering his hand to help the man up Yoshino says "I'm Yoshino Takumi and you are?"

He held his head with his hand.

"Julian... Julian Ragsford." He accepted the hand and hauled himself up.

"The last thing I remember was... Being trapped inside the prison..."

He sighed. "Things really are turning for the worse with this event, aren't they?"

Yoshino smiled sheepishly while speaking "I wouldnt know ive been lost in these sewers for most of these games. Do you by any chance know where to go get out of here".

He shook his head.

"To be quite honest I don't know how I even got here.."

He looked down and frowned depressingly.

"I haven't been sure of really anything recently...."

He 180ed and became chipper again.

"But I'm sure things will get better quite quickly!"

Sorento descends down the ladder after Victoria.

"Now which way?" He said as he viewed the labyrinth of sewers.

He took of up flute and played a long note. The sound echoed throughout the corridors.

"From the sound of it, this place is rather large.."

Julian is startled by some sort of loud echo.

"B flat...."

He looked around.

"I suppose someone's coming..."

Victoria looked around at the foul tunnel as she waited on Sorento to descend. Dark Magician Girl scouted a bit as well, never going far from Victoria though.

"This place looks like it hasn't been in service for a decade or so, maybe longer," she whispered to herself.

Julian's deck began glowing. He looked down and noticed it.

Suddenly he drew the top card. His favorite... 'Jester Confit'.

An almost ghostly image of it appeared next to him laughing and roaming the tunnels.

At first he was astonished. He didn't quite know what to think.

It continued splashing water and playing in the shadows.

It was almost a gift to see such playfulness in such a serious event... It was something he could appreciate.

"Master, I sense a malevolent presence in these tunnels," Dark Magician Girl said softly.

Victoria looked around and tried to listen to the world around her. There was that laughter again. It sounded human, mostly, but sinister and deranged.

"Sorento, I am not liking this sewer any more than I liked that bloody prison," she tried to say in a loud yet hushed voice.

Sanne made her way through the water when she suddenly realized it wasn't merely water anymore she was going through. Getting out on the side as soon as she could, she looked around, finding herself in what appeared to be a sewer. What on earth am I doing in a sewer. Is this a way out, maybe? Slowly she went further inside, along the ledges at the sides and hugging herself against the cold of her wet clothes and the cold environment.

Sorento wasn't descending into the sewers, which worried Victoria a little. She could not see up the ladder at him, nor had he responded to anything she had said. She waited there, against the wall, out of the foul water that trickled and flowed through these unmanned sewers.

Still no answer, "Sorento this isn't funny!" she called out, "I'm not amused in the least!"

Sanne heard a voice echoing through the place. Coming from her front, she moved towards it. "Hello? Anyone there?"

Victoria stood froze to the spot. Was that a voice?

"Master! Someone is approaching," the spirit beside her exclaimed.

She turned to face down the tunnel and turned the other way as she spoke, "Hello? Who's there?"

Hearing a voice reply, she sighed relieved. Someone was around. So she'd made it back. No more running around aimlessly. "I'm lost, I gotta get back. Can you help me?" She walked further, then came around the corner, seeing the person that voice belonged to.
