| By all means, if you have things prepped from before, then you can put up the Prom. Just be sure to send the invites around, and all of that.
I've done this before, on UNA. It seemed quite a success, so. I hope you can make this to a success here.

| I might as well explain what I know since I went through it.
A Dueling prom was first created in World Dueling Academy, hosted by DigiDigi last March(?). Credits to Nour(?) for the banner.
It's an event were there are couples/threesomes/foursomes enter and was in a swiss format. (Went with Irate). It's tallied by points and usually has a timer, no eliminations until the final competitors are seen.
There wasn't a ban list and the format was that of a regular war duel format except for the swiss part.
