An old research facility that had long since been abandoned. Many old experiments still lie here.

Outside the building, Pride's shoes are heard with a 'click'. The old linoleum tiles outside are overgrown with old weeds and plant life.
C.C. still being hovered around him in a cradle. Pride begins inspecting the outside of the facility.
Several doors can be found, but all are damaged and in no working position.
Pride finds the weakest one, and rips is open with his hands of shadows.
He steps in. Wires and random pieces of electrical equipment are riddled on the floor.
He makes his way further into the establishment.
Several old monitors, (cracked or not), are hung on the wall with various amounts of dust on them.
He inspects the wiring. Old, but amendable.
He looks over at C.C., who still remains unconscious.
"I don't suppose you have any experience with old electrical equipment, do you...?"

As Pride talked to her, she stirred. Her power hadn't diminished, but she'd become the old her. Slowly, she got into an upright sitting position, her hand going for head head. "God ... what happened ... "

"It would appear that you had been taken over by one of your alter-egos, or something of that nature."
He looks over to her, but not moving where he is.
"I suppose you could blame that partially on me. And to thank me too, I suppose."
"Feeding off of those shadows has kept you much stronger and closer to living, but I'm afraid it's what caused that transformation."
He went back to the wiring.
"We should try and get this facility up and running. I would think they placed it here just for that..."
He looks around the large room full of many piece of giant equipment.
"Who knows what devices lurk in here...."

She got off his shadow, and jumped on the ground. Carefully, not to tread on a wire, to fall down, she came on the ground, and looked around, observing her surroundings. An old, seemingly maintenance sort of room, with monitors, high-tech electricity equipment spread over the whole place, and tools inbetween them. "Looks like they wanted to use this place, but it got either wrecked, or they abandoned it before they could use it properly."
C.C. sat down in a bnuch of cables, using them as a seat. She looked up at Pride, seemingly only a 10 year-old boy, but she knew, from what her evil side had noticed, he was in fact something more, a lot more. She knew, he could kill her. And, it wouldn't be something she'd mind.
"Selim ... I don't want to hurt people. I don't want to kill, or inflict pain. It only does that, inflict pain, hurt them, and nobody gains anything from it. I'm not that sort of person. If ... If I become Darquesse again. I want you to kill me, before I get a chance to do anything. Or kill me now."

While fiddling with the equipment, he's talking with her.
"We all have to do things we don't enjoy to stay a live darling. Whether it be to take, to harm, or to kill."
He stops and looks over to her. His eye firm with confidence, yet soft with gloom.
"Sometimes.... The easiest things ... are the hardest...."
He goes back to the wiring.
"You talk and speak that killing provides no benefit in this situation."
He stops.
"Unfortunately, you're wrong in this instance.."
Pride snaps his fingers and the lights turn on. Nothing more. "I suppose that's better than nothing.."
He wipes his hands with an old lab coat.
"Killing in this instance, provides us with the ability to assurance that we are not to be killed.. As twisted as that may seem, it's what we must do to make sure that doesn't happen."
He looks back at her.
"Or... Did you have something else in mind?"

She got up, her green hair falling back over her shoulder, down her entire back, and her golden eyes, wet with tears, looked at the kid. She'd gone through hell. Thousands of years of it. Prejudice. Witchhunting. All of it. She'd been burned on the stake, drowned, torn in four, decapitated, crucified. But she hadn't died. She wanted to die. The world was full of pain, suffering, and unneeded violence.
"Selim, you're older then me. You know how wretched this world is. If we keep killing the others, we end up doing what they want us to do. If we don't, they'll lose. I've seen the horrors of this world in first person, and I have gone through enough. I don't want to become that, wha tI've seen others become." A tear ran down her pale cheek. "Enough people were hurt. Nottu, Droite, TC, Reaper. They were all friendly people ... Look at them now ... "

Pride is about to continue messing with the equipment.
"And what? What do you think would have happened to those people if you hadn't killed some of them? Any other person on this island could and eventually would have..."
He looks down.
"You're correct when you say that I'm older than you... I've existed as long as man has...."
He looks back at her.
"There's two options here. To either kill the others, or get killed by the others. There's no middle path dear.... .........It's either left or right."

"Well then ... I'm afraid, I'll ... " She grabbed a metal shard, at the size of a pocketknife, and clearly just as sharp, if not more. She pressed the metal item against her throat, putting pressure on it, not enough to just cut, but enough to show her seriousness. "I'm not a killer, Selim. I don't take lives. Other then my own."
Her entire life, she'd been the one to have been hurt. The one to have been killed. But, now that they were here, and actually mortal. She wanted to die. Not just to lose the memory of the horrible life she'd had. But to also save at least someone, from whenever Darquesse would emerge again.

Selim grit his teeth and frowned.
"You're disappointing me....... I expected so much more from someone like you...."
He snapped his fingers and shadows shot through her hands.
"To think.... Someone who's lived thousands of years... Yet they can't kill someone?! I've lived for many millennium and can't count the numbers of homicides I've committed!!!"
C.C. was pinned to the wall at this point. Her shard of metal on the floor. Blood pouring out of her hands now.
"All this competition it seems I've been disappointed in you......."
Shadows came from behind him, reenacting scenes.
"Deciding to kill someone... Wanting revenge and regretting it... DROPPING A LAKE ON ME.........."
He stopped. He brushed off his shoulders and took a deep breath.
"No. I've come far too much in this competition to lose now...... I won't be stopped...."
He smiled and looked back at her...
"You want to feel pain...? I'll make sure that happens.... But we're not done yet.... "
"Not even if I lose my closest ally in millenia...

A smile appeared on her lips, and the soft gold took place for the ice-cold blue. Her hair, tainted from the soothing green to ink black, and her attire changed along. From her white straitjacket, into the black mantle. She lowered her head a tad, to look at him from a better angle, as the shadows that had pierced her hands suddenly got cut off, and faded away.
"Hey again." Darquesse looked at Pride, the little kid, so seemingly innocent. "Missed me, honey?"

She wiped all mechanics and electrics to the side, all smashing against a wall, into bits and bytes, beyond repair. The light went out as well, and her two eyes flared up as a couple of headlights. "I'm tired of people running away, Selim. You said you prefered me over her. Prove it to me."

Rage slowly building in his eyes.
The amount of shadows right there was more than he'd ever had before.
He ripped his head around.
"YOU WRETCHED BRAT!!!!!!!"
Sickles, scythes, and spikes shot towards her like bullets.
Scraps of his metal blasted everywhere.

She vanished, in a swirl of shadow, then appeared behind him, enough distance. "Did I anger the little boy?" A smile was present on her lips, and she didn't seem to care one bit. "You should know the rules better. Kill by a duel."

He turns.

The shadows shot at her again, this time, from all angles.

She jumped, using the air to go higher, and shot over him, then went through what was left of the wall she previously stood with, before Pride had ripped it apart. Landing on her feet, she turned around, and looked at him. "Well well. I do see a flash of anger. Maybe even panic. But it doesn't mat-" She suddenly fell silent, and her eyes froze for a second, before a blue little flame shot out of her left eye, and then faded away. She looked at the guy, his shadows still with him.
"Fair enough, Pride. Game's on, when we're the last ones left." Her robes had made place for shorts and a mere bra, all in black. Also, a hooded cape, was hanging off her back, a white star on it, as imprint.

Pride was confused but still furious...
He rummaged around the small room. Nothing was amendable.
However, he knew this wasn't the only room in the facility. Just the main power room...
He looked back at the new form.
"Your last form destroyed what I just mended."
He grit his teeth.
"I can still repair most of what's in the rest of this facility, but we'll need another power source..."
He looked back at her.
"The souls you've collected should do quite well."
He set off to work back at the machinery.
He yelled back at her.
"We'll need an estimated six souls to get things running here. Find the last one and we'll be in good shape."
He leaves to a different room.

She walked to him, and looked at him. "Shouldn't be a problem. I'll be sure you'll know what you're doing." She turned, and walked, off to where-ever the next victim was, but stopped dead in her tracks. "Who will be the target for now."

Pride was clicking his way through the old laboratory.
Wires were everywhere, scraps of metal, anything.
He'd noticed one of the machines had several pods hooked up to them... Large enough they looked like they'd fit humans...
He walked over and rubbed on the tops. They were glass. The dust came off. Skeletons were in each one.
He frowned...
"Bother..."
The ate all the skeletons and went back to work.
He moved all the pods together, and found a container that was connected to a large computer. He'd be using that to power everything with the souls.
He continued working for a while. The main unit was complete. Full of what looked like specters that were able to see everything that was on the island.
Even while he could do that himself, he knew that his powers were limited when it came to omnipresence.
He ripped out a useless pod and lied down. Exhausted.
"I suppose now we just wait for Darquesse's new form to finish....."

Shooter walked back in, going through the rubble. As she eventually couldn't find him, she materialized her blastergun, and shot a few times, into a wall at her left, to draw his attention. She'd acquired both his deck and soul. She was positive he'd be content with the result.

She handed him the soul, and the deck. "I'll be out again, though. You can continue your business here, I'll be taking a slight bit of payback." She turned around, and walked off, back to the Den, where her reflection was stalling for time till she was back. Edmund wouldn't be able to run this time. Not again.
