The Good and Bad of ODA

There have been so many changes to ODA in the past few weeks that it could make your head spin. I have seen and heard mixed feelings, so now I want to open the floor to all of you members. Tell us (the Staff) what you think of things. What do you like? What don't you like? Wahat needs fixed? What would you like to see?

Honesty is the best policy, but keep it professional. Don't be a jerk basically is what I'm saying. If you have an issue with the site, just say what it is in a normal manner.

Let's hear what the people have to say!

personally i dont like how slack the chat mods can be with regards to peoples coments i hve seen peole type some pretty mean and hurtful as well as simply inaproriate comments with little to know repricussions and times certain staff would join in then clear the chat to avoid evidence to the contrary

Thank you for the legitimate input Kev. I think ODA has often had issues with its staff. I intend to crack down on that.

There are 3 major issues with the place: Nottu, Taisakuno Shouri, and Jammy. These guys will lead to ODA's downfall.

Joking aside, the only thing that really comes to mind right now is the staff problems. Such as how there are councilors and admins, separately. Because, as it was set before I stepped down, Councilors WERE just admins, just with a different name so as to not be like any other site. Also, there are 4 admins and what... 2 mods? Is Logan even still a mod? If anything, there should be 3 admins, and 3-5 mods, depending on their demand and activity. I'd like to suggest assigning certain jobs to certain people too, like a battle mod to handle wars and the arena, a dorm mod to handle the dorms, etc. It just needs to balance out the staff. I planned on doing this, but for obvious reasons I didn't XD

Anyway, uhh. I'm gonna be honest, the major part of the community is childish as fuq. But then again YGO is a children's card game so I can't argue with that.
Other than that, nothing I can recall.

I ain't active enough to really say what's wrong. But from what I'm reading above, I reckon the Staff's got issues.

If that really is the case, just try to sort things out in the staff first, and asap. If the staff can't have their business in order, no way in hell the rest of the Academy is gonna respond well. That's just a normal response.

As for the chat, there should be someone reliable with Chat mod Powers on at all times. Otherwise, and DA is the perfect example, all hell breaks loose. People go off insulting, posting profanity and sexuality [people literally post porn in DA's Chat Box] and it'll become uncontrollable. Keep the chat clean should sort quite a few problems on its own.

I think you made wise decision of spreading the dates of when changes were made. I've seen, and been apart of, several academies that fall just because change is made too fast. Soo, I commend you all for that. You all also do a wonderful job of having several events going on most of the time. As for the chat thing? Yeah, I see some bad things, but what are you going to do, you're going to see that wherever you go, and with an additional 1-2 mods, that should fix that problem. I do think that more positions should be offered for different things too. Like I was going to make a post in the suggestions to have more positions available like RPG Hoster, and things along that line. Over all, just make sure you know what the going-on's are. When I was admin I think the main fall was that people didn't know know what was happening and they just left.
