Match : The Seal vs Blackwings
Match Results: 5/10
Game 1 was a fast game, didn't get to see him do too much in it. Game 2 was a longer one but he got the win. Game 3 was about average length but in the end, The Seal overcame him. He seems to know what he is doing and still shows that he lacks experience with certain misplays but shows clear potential.
Deck Construction: 15/20
The deck itself runs like a normal Blackwing deck but there are some tweaks that need made to make it better. You have a 42 card deck, that can be trimmed to 40 by taking out unneeded cards such as Mistral the Silver Shield. I know he is a Tuner but let's face it, he is next to useless 90% of the time.
You run a single Bottomless and a Single Compulsory. Given that you need to thin the deck I would take one of these out for the side deck or just drop it entirely and run a second of the other (So run either 2 Bottomless or 2 Compulsory and drop the other), you also run a single Fiendish Chain. Consider adding it to your side deck instead and add a second one as well. This will give you a diverse selection for siding and trim the deck to 40. I do not see you're Caius being a very helpful addition as you will likely be using your Normal Summons up to get your Shura or Sirrocco out.
Duelist Peformance: 10/20
Not too many issues here. Focus was good, he understood his deck very well and made some very nice plays. I did notice a turn when you could have summoned your second Shura earlier and swarmed much greater than you did. I would have lost a heap of LP that game instead of the little I did lose. Blackwings are normally much faster than yours seemed to be, but overall the build is decent.
Learn your card effects just a little better and you'll do just fine. You're still new but you've got hope to be great.
Siding: 9/10
A good strong side but missing 2 cards still. He sided in his Prison and Rivalrys along with the Snowman Eaters. Rivalry was a good choice vs a deck with many Types in it. The Snowman was a good idea to help deal with the beaters and Prison is just all around a good choice to deal with big monsters or problem monsters. He sided in his Thunder King which can be a double edged sword for BWs considering all the searching they do with Whirlwind and Shura but he never got to use him anyway.
Side Deck: 4/5
ONly complaints I had were the 2 missing cards.
2 Snowman Eaters, 2 Maxx C, 1 Thunder King Rai Oh, 2 Soul Taker, 1 D Fissure, 1 D Prison, 2 Rivalry of the Warlords, 1 Soul Drain, 1 Penguin Soldier. Nice rounded side. Good variety and has answers to many problem decks. I would recommend adding Droll and Lock Bird for Prophecy match ups or HERO.
Ruling Questions: 5/15
1. If you control a Neo-Spacian Grand Mole and you attack your opponent's face-up Ally of Justice Catastor, what will happen to these monsters?
You were on the right track but got it incorrect. Ally of Justice's effect is mandatory and will activate, becoming Chain Link 1, but Grand Mole's effect will activate in response becoming Chain Link 2. Since Chains resolve in reverse, Grand Mole's effect will bounce Catastor before Catastor will resolve.
2. If your opponent summons High Priestess of Prophecy, and you respond with Solemn Warning, what would happen if they chained Spellbook of Wisdom?
You nailed it. Spellbook of Wisdom cannot be activated as it is a Spell Speed 2 whereas Solemn is a Speed 3.
3. If you attacked during your Battle Phase with Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning and destroyed a monster but did not use his effect to attack a second time, could you use his effect to banish a monster during your second Main Phase?
The answer is no, BLS cannot attack period if you use his Banish effect, ergo he cannot attack once and then banish either.
