Special Summon from your Graveyard as many FIRE monsters as possible with 200 DEF. During the End Phase, banish all monsters that were Special Summoned by this effect.

Rekindling is a card that has been at 3 on the banlist for a while. It is a very powerful card, but the question is whether it is broken or not.

Pros:
•Needs a lot of grave setup, as to get the most out of its effect you need to have 5 FIRE monsters in your graveyard with 200 DEF.
•It's a Dead Draw early game
•The main decks it supports are lower tier decks, such as Lavals and Flamvells

Cons:
•Is a very sacky topdeck, as it can completely turn around a game late in the game by itself
•After it is set up, it is a +4
•Makes high powered synchros such as Red Nova Dragon and Shooting Quasar Dragon summonable with just 1 other card (no other cards in the case of Red Nova)

Personally, I feel like Rekindling should go to either 0 or to 1. It is way too good of a power play for the decks that can set it up, and no card should ever summon 5 monsters from your Graveyard for no cost.

Your thoughts on this card?

The way I see it: Lavals are the main engine for the thing. It's also kind of like Karakuri spam: If you can stop the initial summons, you won. If you use something like Torrential Tribute or so much as even book of moon one of the synchro monsters made with all of the new ones from the grave, you pretty much won the duel right there.

Even so, there's multiple ways to stop it. Yea, Trap Stun is quite common in Rekindling Quasar OTKs but it doesn't change the fact that it can still be defeated. The fact of the matter is that if you're at 8k and your opponent can't kill you that turn you could more than easily drop Quasar next turn. Yes it's a little difficult to deal with a 4k beater that can negate anything once per turn PLUS if it leaves the field you can summon a 3.3k beater in it's place, but it's stoppable. It sure isn't tier 1-2, so it really doesn't seem like much of a problem. Karakuri are even better for OTKing, imo.
