A man stood inside a gas station re-stocking food. He yawned. "ugh i can't believe i got stuck working the night shift" He complained to himself. "no one even shows up at this time anyways".
CRASH!!
something hit the ground making the man jumped. The noise seemed to come from the basement. He got up and went over to the register, opened a drawer underneath it and grabbed a flashlight. He walked over to a door that was marked staff only. He opened it stairs led down into the basement. "Hello" he called out "is anyone down there?" a moan came from down below. he walked down the stairs and flipped on the flashlight. the lights didn't turn on. he flipped it a few more times but nothing happened. The employee scanned his flashlight across the room. He found a man laying on the ground next to a pile of fallen boxes. "hey, are you ok?" the employee asked aiming his flashlight at the man. he walked closer, the man moaned. as he reached the man the man looked up and bit his leg. The employee fell down and screamed in pain. The person stood up and slowly walked towards the employee. "help!" the employee screamed loud enough that anyone outside the building could hear. The employee tried to scoot away but the man fell on top of him and started eating him. "AHHHH!!!!!!" the employee screamed.

Meanwhile in a small town a few miles away from the gas station an alert was spread through the tv's a new anchor read to everyone

"Can the dead really come back to life? well recent reports have shown the dead rising and eating anyone they can even there loved ones. all attempts to communicate with them have failed. as well as any attempts to stop them. except for one person who says he has been able to stop them by destroying the brain. could we be dealing with zombies or something else stay tuned as we keep you up to date on the events and for now we recomend you stay inside lock all the doors and have any weapons you have in hand."

As Galen was walking to the entrance of the gas station he heard someone scream for help, he started running towards the gas station but stop for a moment. What if it was a robbery and someone was armed? Galen went back to his car and got out the Kampilan from the box he just wrapped it again when he got home and his father would never know besides now a days everyone had a gun but when a six foot guy with a big sword comes at you its bound to make you think twice about doing something stupid or at least that's what he hope for. So he took the sword out and put the sheath in his belt through the special space it had.

Once he grab the sword he made his way to the gas station and open the door making the stupid bell at top of the door chimed, so much for a stealthy entrance now whoever was here knew someone enter the station. Strangely no one came and there was no noise so i guess whoever is robbing the store put a gag on the cashier. There was a TV on apparently there was a zombie movie going on because that's all they were talking about.

One row of the gas station was filled with empty food cans next to a box guess the employee was re-stocking when he got jumped. A strange sound was coming from the back of the store some sort of squishy noise along with a moaning.

"Hello anyone there?" no need to be stealthy with that stupid bell chimed, Galen walked over to the back door. There were some stairs that let to a basement of some sorts and at the bottom there was a light so someone must be there plus the noises where getting louder the closer he got to the stairs, he looked behind him just to make sure no one was behind him. That's a classic in the movies hero comes to investigate the spooky sounds and then WHAM!! gets hit in the head and wakes up in a bathtub filled with ice next to a phone and his kidney is missing unless he pays a large sum of money.

As it would seem no kidney robber was behind him, so he shrugged and started down the creepy stairs holding a sword following the spooky noises "I have to be crazy." The weird thing is the light came from the floor and it seem to be rolling around. As Galen kept going down the creaking wooden steps the moaning kept getting louder along with the squishy noise and what was even weirder was the crunching sound that came from near the light.

As he came down to the final step he light rolled to an angle that show what was making the noise, a man with a filthy overall cover in blood and grease was eating the ribs of what he guess was the station employee. "What the fuck?!

Galen was so shock he stepped back and fell on the ladder the noise made the man looking up, his eyes were glazed over had maybe only 4 teeth all cover in blood and started growling and yelling at him. The man stood up with the ribs in his bloody hand, the station employee was obviously dead what with his ribs in the mans hand and that big hole in his stomach poor guy.

The bloody man came running and snarling at Galen and well he did the only thing you can do when a running mad man cover in blood holding another mans ribs that he was eating just a second a go comes at you. You scream and kick him in the stomach making him step backwards. But the mad man regain his balance real fast and came running at him again so he did the only thing sensible he swung his sword and stab the guy in the head, he dropped dead fast.

Galen was breathing hard and fast his hand was bloody and he had just killed a man of course the man want it to eat him so that count it as self defense right? He pick the sword from the mad man's head and ran upstairs as fast as his feet could take him and got in his car and shut the doors and took out the sheath from his belt and clean the sword of blood with a towel he had in the back seat. He also clean his hand as best he could then he put the sword in the sheath and laid his head back. "What the hell just happen back there?"

Galen wasn't left with anytime to recover almost imediately after there was a bump on his door. A man stood there trying to claw threw the window. He resembled the other man in terms of the bloody teeth. and blood everywhere. Bump another one hit his passenger window and began trying to claw its way through. its eyes were bloodshot and blood was on his face. half eaten intestines fell out of his mouth. It must of been in the middle of a meal when it came to attack Galen. There werent many of them but something had to be done before they broke through the window.
(also just to clear up what types of zombies these are they can't run and as like most zombies can only be killed by destroying the brain)

"Crap!" Galen jump so hard he hit his head on the roof of the car, quickly and in panic he put the locks on the door but the mad men were trying to get in. They were snarling and screaming like crazy. What kind of new drug was hitting the streets these days?

Well he already killed once and it was in self defense so this must count too. He put the keys in the ignition and started the car and put it in reverse so fast the wheels left marks on the pavement. The two men fell forward hard but they just got up and started towards the car one of them must have hit really hard because an eye ball was hanging from his left cheek like a piece of snot.

"Lets see how you like this." Galen put the car in drive and speed up again ramming the mad men with the car, Galen jump and hit his head again but he didn't stop there since after he ram them he started hearing that dreadful moan so he put the car in reverse and ram them back he did this like five times until the adrenaline rush wore off and he put the car in park grab his sword and got out to check the men.

They were a mess, Galen was horrified at what he had done that he started to vomit right next to the eye of one of the men. He was horrified until he heard one of them moving and moaning, Galen jump back and watched the mangle body of the man trying to get to him. He ran back to the car threw the sword in the back and got out of there as fast as his car would take him. "Just what in the name of God is happening here?"

He started to go over the events in his head and the only explanation he could come up with was so irrational it couldn't make sense but it did, maybe that thing on the TV was not a movie. "Crap, I just killed two zombies." Too bad he didn't notice until later that he forgot to filled the tank with gas.

Galen's car started to slow down and it stopped right in front of a sign that said "manteca 3 miles" the gas station was about 3 miles back an equal distance as to the next town. If he went back to the gas station for gas he would be able to use his car and be safer and he already knew there werent many of the zombies on the road. However if he walked to the next town there may be help there and might even be a gas station, or the town could be infested with the zombies and he would be surrounded the second he entered. he also had no idea how many zombies would be on the way there. He had to make his decision fast he couldn't just sit out here.
