Hey everyone,

I'll try to list some of my ideas to somewhat improve ODA to the better, hopefully these ideas are taken into consideration because with good thinking, much can be achieved.

Tag Arena: From my time here, I see a lot of people that like to Tag duel so why not have some sort of Tag Arena where you can hook up with a partner against another team and earn OD and also I suggest it would have it's own duel record and rules where you and your partner cannot use the same decks.

Inner Academy War Teams: Ok, so I've spoken about this multiple times and it was done the wrong way. Yes, I am speaking about "Vanilla Wrath" and these other stuff but let's not get to that, The idea would be having some sort of competitive dueling so you can have the best of both worlds, even host a grand event for top teams in the rating but that would come later when the forum gets active again.

Currency: Ok, so from my time here. I can tell that OD is damn hard to obtain and hardly anyone duels in the Arena, it's so so inactive, I couldn't even get 500OD for my name change until Sasukat payed for me, so there should be more ways of obtaining OD such as Dice Games(Even provided imgs for Hero but he never did it) it takes only 60 seconds max to setup on the admin panel), Grand Events with big prizes, GFX Events, Of course weekly events should still be there and even more, and please bring back Homework's for old times sake.

Main Shop: Items in the shop are way too expensive, for example: Hosting an event is 1000OD.... why make something that promotes activity so expensive considering that it's hard to obtain OD, another thing is "Having your own sub forum in the academy" without any restrictions to other games, it should be YU-GI-OH! based, if you want to play LoL, Pokemon with your friends, sure you have the right to do so but you don't have to make others players in the forum play it too so as not to kill a community that's originally built for Yu-Gi-Oh, solution would be Private message or Skype but it's just never right to do it in the public or the Chatbox.

Classroom Absence: Seriously what's an Academy without learning? The classroom is way too inactive, no more lessons or articles or teaching stuff, testers job aren't only placing in dorms, they teach members how to improve.

Uh.....

Tag arena is/was a good idea. But some people cant download devpro! Besides that it's great.

Inner war teams are also nice, but we are gonna need more people for that.

As for class room stuff, we need to get everything in order first Razz

besides those i agree with everything Very Happy . OD does need to be easier to Obtain, but not too easy to the point where it's worthless -_-. This place should function like a real economy in that sense. We either need cheaper prices, or more ways of obtaining. We can make a few more ways but preferably not too much to the point where we need to raise prices..... cause then it no fun Very Happy


Also we should award recruiting again, I liked that idea. it prompts people more to recruit!

I feel like this might be copying..  But VDA has posting rewards for their academy.

Like 50 posts = 50 OD (Or whatever currency)
100 = 100 OD
200 = 200 OD (And so on)

I think that would solve the issue of OD being too hard to come by.

Umm..  As for lessons, I'd be happy to go back making them.  I think it was just that no one could decide who was making them and what the lessons should strictly be over.

I had the idea too of like a really big questionnaire with kinda questions that the DN admins use to test people.  People could fill those out and try to get OD that way or something.

Nice idea. Don't like the separate duel record though, because this is more of a secondary arena. The duel record we have now, I'm actually going to see if I can get it removed by talking to C.C. It serves no purpose other than to annoy mods when they go through and do arenas, and some people do not want to display their records or are embarrassed by them. Besides, if you really want to show it off, you can always put it in your signature. The rule where they cannot use the same decks... I'll ask you to explain your reasoning for this, but I'm not all for that either.

There were never really enough people to make enough teams to do all this, but I just got an idea: yes, making permanent teams can be an option, but members should also have the option to team up together for just one war if they like, and not be formally part of a team.

I like the Dice Games idea, and I think the staff is already planning to do something about this: though rather than lower the prices, I think they are planning to make it easier to get OD. Fair enough?

As for personal forums and such: this was a way to give members a place to plan and talk about what they want. Anywhere from a Clan HQ to their own personal group of friends just having a place to chat or gossip.

As much as I agree with you, it won't happen. Making lessons option to participate in makes no one participate. Making it mandatory causes people to rage at the system.

@Don Patch: You aren't going to force people to actually Tag Arena, it's an option to those who have DevPro and from my opinion, I think a successful academy should support all the platforms to have the best of both worlds, another thing is having widget in the menu for YGOPro/DevPro for people to download, this way you can attract other YGOPro players increasing activity and also Tag Arena is way much fun and I am sure many people will love it, about the teams you are right that's why I said it comes later, what I meant about OD is that there should be many ways of earning it in reasonable amounts and lower the prices in the shop that can easily promote activity, this way members are more attracted to the content, awarding for recruiting is also a good idea.

@Pride: Lessons is a big priority but I think the type of lessons at this moment would be like this.... You ask a couple of questions (Ruling/Yugioh Knowledge/ etc..... and for each one that participates, they get a small amount of OD say "30" but the best answer would get more OD say "100-200" this would be another way to actually fix the OD problem.

@Evil: The thing about separating the duel record is that Tag duels don't rely on skills as much as match duels does, so separating it would make it much more fair for players. My explanation of not using the same decks is that Tag duels is that they are so reliant on the decks of the partners or the synergy between rather than pure skill so to make it fair for players, they would have to use 4 different decks so that it's all about pure skill. Also any (Burn/Stall/Win condition/Deckout decks are banned of course). I provided Dice images for Hero before, it takes 1 min to configure that on the admin panel and I am willing to provide them again if needed, as I said having your personal HQ in the forum is fine but there should be some restrictions so that it's only Yu-Gi-Oh! based because any other games can easily ruin the community, also items in the shop should be way cheaper when they promote activity aka "Hosting your own event" .

I've already worked out the arena, I just need to make the actual post in the thread now. So don't worry about that, I'll take care of it personally. The current thread is in the staff section but I already stated the changes there.

I honestly did not think of tag arena and I'm a ygopro / devpro user myself XD I'll add that in layer and if you catch me in chatbox please do tell more ideas.

The arena will actually fix the od issue, don't ask just trust me Very Happy

We had a working classroom but it was closed due to the Revamp, if vent is still available he'll be working on that otherwise someone else can address that.

So basically I'm putting myself incharge of the arena and od system. I think I spoke to c.c. About it but there's a lot I have planned to fix the distribution.

I myself remember coming here because of the in-depth lessons here, I still don't know a lot about the game mechanics and would like to learn more if at all possible. I also agree with pretty much everything else.

Concerning the teaching. There's a system that is only on the idea's table atm for XDA. It's basically that a Obelisk or Orichalcos Green takes up a member of Slifer or Ra, and become partners. The higher ranked will try teaching the lower ranked. When the Slifer/Ra gets tested into Obelisk, that bond will then end. They both will gain advantages, such as when one of the two wins an Arena Duel, or something, the other will gain a bit, too. [Increases OD distribution]

I can try to find the post made by Yeezus, but right now I'm busted ass tired and prolly hitting the hay real soon. So you can discuss the general idea as is.
