Short & Sweet:
I'm stepping down from the position as Obelisk Blue Leader, mainly because I don't have the spirit and the time to keep doing lessons and because there are people more skilled than me and therefore better fit for the position. Kyonaru has proven his knowledge and ability with his articles before, so I'd like to give him a special recommendation.

To make this fair we will have the usual procedure:
Everyone who wants to become Blue Leader makes a lesson and posts it here in this thread. After a week staff will be given yet another week to make their descisions and vote on the new leader. Good luck to everyone.

Well since kyo isn't going to post (obelisks are even lazier than slifers which is odd as heck but seems to be the truth ) I am going to push him to post, because "I'm a pusher". Yes quoting mean girls anyone? Now as obelisk the lessons should be about discussing about meta, advanced techniques, siding against tier 1, and overall gaining that knowledge in rulings and as a duelist yourself. We are expected to be the most prepared all the time.

As we've touched on the side-decking and banlist from the current TCG banlist, were moving quite along smoothly with Mermails, Fire Fists, and Macro Rabbits being the dominant top 3 decks for TCG. Although you see more mermails, fire fists, and rogue decks top, Macro Rabbits still have an advantage when it comes to the anti-meta aspect. Unfortunately, other decks seem to get rid of them during YCS and Regionals.
With new cards coming up, you see Constellar, Evilswarms, Prophecy, Madolche, and much more variety of cards that will change the metagame. As we see already, Prophecy, Evilswarm, and E-dragons are the 3 dominant decks in the OCG;however, Certain cards are going to be OCG only cards, in which the meta will be different in the TCG than the OCG. With the release of Hidden Arsenal 7, Constellar, and Evilswarm will reign out of their boxes. Evilswarm in TCG will not get Kery, but that does not stop them in fitting in spots for the meta-game. Constellar will also be played, and people will try to find ways to make it fit in with other Tier 1 decks, but the possibility of that is low. It is really known for being able to outplay Evilswarms, when it comes to monster control. The Rank 5 XYZ plays (if pulled off) devastate evilswarms, as the dominant Ophion plays, and backrow get pushed asied as Constellar re-loop their combos. Mermails will still be a dominant tier 1, because Evilswarm still won't have kery, which will dumb down the amount of plays Evilswarm has. Not only that, but unless you 1st turn Ophion, Mermails still have diva plays with infant allowing them Armory Arm + Antlantean monster, or Abysspike + Infantry, which might be an issue in game. Evilswarm will still have a high chance of being tier 1 in the TCG, because the strong siding capabilities and balance it has as a deck whole.
Prophecy will also be a Tier 1 deck, upcoming in the future. With 1 card being an easy win condition "Judgment" people are learning how to get bigger plays with Prophecy. Not only that, but as the game progresses, people are finding more ways to get around the EEV (Epidemic Virus) which destroys the deck, as soon as its played, nearly an auto-loss with prophecy. Still strong plays can allow it bigger field control, and take the game with patience and good reads.
E-dragons will NOT be a dominant Tier 1 deck in the TCG when it comes out in May. Without the mini dragons, the summon waves get dimmed down, almost nearly to half of its capabilities in the OCG side of the game. People will most likely fall into making Chaos E-dragons, or Disaster E-dragons to make up for not getting cards in TCG. Who knows, maybe someone will bring up a new set of moves, like Brake did with Mono-Mermail.
Fire Fists are a debatable in the tier as they do top sometimes, and they have explosive plays, and very high consistency when it comes to getting the cards you need at times. The only issue is that I don't see Fire Fists having a dominant match-up over any deck in the Current Tier 1 list.

Now let's move on with the lesson. Today's lesson will be on E dragons. "But I know how to beat e dragons. The OCG sucks balls! They only do the same loop!" Shut up and stop whining lol. Even if the baby dragons don't hit TCG, you should have knowledge mastery on BOTH OCG and TCG as you will be the people most prepared and owning competively while people are sitting down eating Oreos enjoying what little they know to come.

So what are E dragons?

In short E dragons is a deck where you discard little dragons of an element with another dragon to special summon the bigger version of itself. It's like leveling up Horus? Haha you wish. Now with 2 monsters already stacked in grave they can banish the monsters in gave for a rank 7 play. That's not all they can banish dragons ANYWHERE.

Main plays

The main plays of e dragons are discarding baby dragons to special summon boss monsters to A. Prepare for next turn or B. go 1st turn LADD. C. rank 7 XYZ .The main reason why this deck is extremely powerful is its option to 1st turn Ladd and still have huge card advantage before your next turn. Unless you have the right cards you are going to lose.

Why are we talking about e dragons?

Simple, because we can't win by pulling a Pegasus and whipping out Dragon Capture Jar.

Key to countering E dragons.

Now without LADD e dragons small limited amounts of plays compared to the other ocg decks. Prolong the game and they start to cripple while other decks like evilswarm re-loop with kery, axis fist keep searching and repeating, and prophecy having a large search margin and keep monsters on field by grinding. E dragons have about 5-6 summon waves when it cones to plays. They are very linear and you can read what they are going to do. If your opponent banishes other cards from the grave to special summon itself from the grave bottomless it, prison it. They can't search. Force them to overextend. Make them keep wasting big eye and drago plays to maintain field control. If you can get rid of the boss monster that sits on the field until your end phase ( most known is redox and blaster for future plays).

Side deck cards?

Maxx c, thunder king rai-oh, effect veiler, gozen match, rivalry of the warlords, chaos hunter, droll & lock bird, metaion, Morphing Jar#2, lava golem.

When you see baby dragon plays use the maxx c. Unless they are dumb try must stop there. Save effect veilers for rank 7 plays only. Keep pushing them to overextend and they will be done with after their waves.

Homework

Homework is to pick 2 side deck choices and explain how they are viable against E dragons.( I want some good detail. Also, you can't pick effect veiler or maxx c). 2nd I want you to pick a card that is outside of this last that has potential to peform well against e-dragons. Remember we are all obelisks here, so no bashing others for their response. Instead openly discuss it. There might be a great idea someone has that legitimately works, and we might learn something new, including myself.

Award: 150 OD for doing this assignment with reasonable responses. The person with the BEST response will get an extra 200 OD.

If the explanation is satisfying enough, you will get 100 OD. For each correct example, you will get 10 additional OD.

The main reason I don't make lessons about "Meta" and "Side Deck Cards" is because Blues are already supposed to know all of that. I think Obelisk Blues should focus more on advanced rulings and game mechanics since they should already be good enough at dueling and siding.

Are you implying that yellows should be discussing meta and side decking and discussion?

Yes. Yellows need to practice the competitive dueling part of Yu-Gi-Oh. The complex ruling part comes later.
